Mt. Bachelor

Mt. Bachelor is a stratovolcano in the Cascade Range about 22 miles (35 km) west of Bend, Oregon, and the second-largest single-mountain ski resort in the United States. Because the ski area wraps the whole cone, you can drop off the summit in any direction — there is no back side. The resort has been owned by POWDR since 2001, and its deep, reliable Cascade snowpack keeps the lifts running from mid-November into late May, one of the longest seasons in the country.

Whether you ride the Summit Express and choose your own line down any face of the volcano, lap the trees off Northwest and Outback, cruise the wide beginner terrain above West Village, or take the longest run more than 4 mi (6.5 km) to the base, Mt. Daily from approx. 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; the Summit Express runs only when weather at the top allows.
West Village is the main base area; Sunrise Base sits on the eastern side of the mountain.
