Keystone

Keystone is one of Colorado's largest ski resorts, spread across three interconnected mountains in Summit County, USA — about 70 miles (113 km) west of Denver, right off Interstate 70. It opened in November 1970, founded by Max Dercum and Bill Bergman, and has been owned by Vail Resorts since 1997. Dercum Mountain, North Peak and The Outback follow one after another from the base at River Run Village, and five high-alpine bowls open up above the treeline. Thanks to its high elevation and 662 acres of snowmaking, Keystone is regularly the first resort in North America to open for the season.

Whether you are cruising Schoolmarm — at 3.5 mi (5.6 km) the longest run on the mountain — dropping into Bergman or Erickson Bowl after a hike or a snowcat ride, session-ing the A51 Terrain Park, or skiing under the floodlights on Colorado's largest night-skiing terrain, Keystone gives you a full day and then some. It is also a family favourite, with Kidtopia events, a snow fort at the top of the gondola and wide green runs on all three mountains. Lift Operating Hours
Daily from approx. 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; night skiing on selected trails until about 8:00 p.m. in season.
The River Run Gondola and the Outpost Gondola link the base area with Dercum Mountain and North Peak; free shuttles run between River Run Village, Mountain House and Lakeside Village.
